Pets are also family, so instead of leaving them at home why not bring them the next time you head out? When going for a visit to friends and family with your dog or cat, you are going to need to follow some guidelines to get by much easier. Here are some pet etiquette to maintain respect and comfort when visiting other people’s places.
Ask if Your Pet is Allowed
Don’t just show up with your pet, as the owner of the home may not be open to pets or have allergies to one, or the condo like Lucerne Grand may have certain rules about pets. It’s best to ask in advance if you can bring them with you to ensure that they are welcome.
Overnight Bag
If you plan on staying for a few hours or days make sure that you have a pet bag made for them. This bag will have the essentials for your furry friend such as diapers, wipes, treats, bowls for water and food, medicine, collars, poop bags and more.
Clean after them
Better that you wear a diaper on them before you head out so that when they need a release, it won’t be as messy. Always bring poop bags with you so that when they take a dump you can clean after them.
Train your dog
Train your dog to be well-behaved, especially if it is not your home they will be going to. Teach them proper greetings, not to bite and bark, which could also result in a good light for your dog and you as a trainer. This allows for a less stressful stay during the occasion/event. You can also teach them tricks to entertain the other people at the area and be sure that your pet will be able to deal with new environments and situations at the home of the host.
